BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Butte County Public Health (BCPH) has started to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine in Phase 1b. Phase 1b is separated into various sectors of essential workers. It is important to note that the vaccine is not available for all of phase 1b.
BCPH said it will publish when additional sectors have been added and the vaccine is available. A graphic attached to this article, provided by BCPH, has been updated to list the sectors lists the sectors individually.
"Once a box is checked for a sector, this means that the vaccine is starting to be available to those who want it in that sector – it does not mean this sector has completed all vaccinations nor does it mean that every person in that sector can get it at the same time," Lisa Almaguer, Communications Manager for BCPH said.
Sectors continue to get larger so the rollout for the entire sector may be slower than previous phases or sectors. Public Health is urging residents of Butte County to be patient.
"Contacting Public Health, your healthcare provider or the hospitals does not speed up the process. At this time, there is not a vaccine sign-up. The vaccine is only available by invitation," Almaguer said.
