We’ve got more amazing video from the Carr Fire that shows damage from both the flames and from the wind created by the fire.

"This whole neighborhood, this whole neighborhood completely wiped out."

It's a tour photojournalist Dave Grashoff knows all too well by now, driving the streets of his hometown.

Getting out of his vehicle at times, stopping to capture another flare-up.

And fire crews--putting out hot spots while the structures lost have all been wiped out because of the flames.

"Here you see houses still burned to the ground, burned by fire," he said.

Dave came across some damaged homes that look like they've been through a storm.

They had a firestorm:

"There's a house that's completely standing but the roof of the house is gone because of the wind and i as turn the corner here you see a lot of debris with a big tree that's toppled,” he said.

A first-hand look at what we've seen: the Carr Fire, creating its own powerful winds.

And while most of the news coming out of this blaze, has been crushing to hear, Dave did capture a ray of hope--along the side of this burned out road: A story of survival, a baby deer, saved by first responders and law enforcement.

"Fire personnel said if we had room for a deer we both kind of did a double take,” he said. “‘A what?’"

"When they pulled out the fawn who was no more than a month old,” said Sgt. David Fawson of the CHP.
“(I) picked up the baby held in my lap as we drove down closer to animal control."

As for how the fawn held up for that very first car ride?

"It was very interesting,” he said. “It was kicking a little bit--it calmed down a little bit when it got it my lap but it got nervous as the car would speed up or slow down it would cry almost as if it was a little baby."

A cry from the wild, joining the other cries from so many impacted by this Shasta Sounty firestorm.
