CHP Oroville investigating fatal hit-and-run, 1 man dead

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-and-run that left one man dead in Biggs on Saturday, they are asking for the public's help in solving this case.

BIGGS, Calif - The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-and-run that left one man dead in Biggs on Saturday, they are asking for the public's help in solving this case. 

According to CHP, it happened on Riceton Highway north of Afton Road, just after midnight on Saturday and a preliminary investigation revealed that there was a vehicle involved that had "fled the scene" prior to the arrival of law enforcement. 

The Butte County Deputy Coroner identified the deceased as Dwain Benish, 23, of Durham, CA.

Anyone with information on Benish's whereabouts, activities or associates for the last 24 hours is encouraged to call (530)-332-1200.
