CHP: Deadly crash on Highway 99, two drivers dead

Two drivers were killed in a head-on crash at Oswald Road in Yuba City around 6:40 a.m., according to CHP.

UPDATE 3:52 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2019 - New information on a head-on crash that happened on Highway 99 and Oswald road in Yuba City Friday morning.

CHP Officer Dave Hernandez told Action News Now the driver of a sedan was headed northbound on Highway 99 when he crossed the center line and hit a pickup truck head-on in the southbound lane.

The drivers of both cars were killed, one died on the scene and the second driver was pronounced dead at the hospital. 59-year-old Gretchen Hubbard of Gridley and 32-year-old Darryl Taylor of Yuba City, according to the CHP.

There were no passengers in either car, said Hernandez.

YUBA CITY, Calif. - One person was killed in a head-on crash at Oswald Road in Yuba City around 6:40 a.m., according to CHP. 

A car was traveling in the northbound lanes of Highway 99 crossed into the southbound lanes and crashed into a pickup truck. The driver of the car was killed in the crash.

Southbound lanes of Highway 99 were closed while crews cleared the crash, they reopened the lanes at 8:30 a.m.
