SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. – The CHP said one man is dead after a solo-collision on Highway 44, east of Old Station.

It happened early morning Thursday. The driver of a white Chevy sedan was headed westbound on Highway 44, when he drifted off the right edge of the road, according to the CHP.

Another disturbance will cross northern California through tomorrow. The biggest effect will be stronger wind in the valley tonight through Thursday. There are no watches or warnings for fire danger, but the wind won't help.
