CHICO, Calif. - The Chico Area Recreation and Park District is presenting its annual Healthy Aging Senior EXPO on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Lakeside Pavilion in Chico. It's located at 2565 California Park Drive.
The EXPO is for people ages 50 and older, and their family members and caregivers. Attendees will get to explore resources to help them be as independent as possible as they age.
There will be dozens of vendors offering things like health screenings, insurance services, health education materials and more.
Coffee Ranch will pour free coffee and food demonstrations with healthy food samples will be provided by Roots Catering And Chico Natural Foods.
Free flu and pneumonia shots will be provided for those who qualify under Medicare Part B, and free specialized telephones from the California Telephone Access Program will also be provided for those who qualify.
Because parking is limited, The Terraces Senior Living is providing a free shuttle for guests. It leaves and returns from the Cedar Grove Parking lot next to the Chico Creek Nature Center in lower Bidwell Park.
