Happening Thursday, Cal OES says earthquake early warning alerts will become available to the public statewide.
The system's statewide debut coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Loma Prieta earthquake that ravaged the San Francisco Bay area on Oct. 17, 1989, as well as Thursday's annual Great Shakeout drill.

To particpate in the earthquake shakeout, the shakeout website shares three apps that allows the public to play and share. There is also a section where you register, check the statistics on whose participating, and how to plan your drill. To access that information, CLICK HERE
