CAL FIRE responds to water rescue in Oroville

Search and rescue teams rushed to the Oroville Wildlife Refuge just after 7 p.m. Tuesday following a report of an injured man.

BIGGS, Calif. -- Search and rescue teams rushed to the Oroville Wildlife Refuge just after 7 p.m. Tuesday following a report of an injured man.

Crews made their way across the Feather River from the Vance Avenue Boat Launch in Biggs where they found the man who had been calling out for help from the river bank.

He had a broken hip, but it wasn't yet clear what caused the injury, according to CAL FIRE.

First responders said they were not able to find any identification on him at the scene.

The man was taken to the hospital from there, according to CAL FIRE.
