GRIDLEY, Calif. - At approximately 2 p.m. Sunday, CAL FIRE responded to a fully involved residential structure fire on Sheldon Ave. in Gridley. Firefighters have knocked down the fire and say it spread to one outbuilding and nearby vegetation.

Forward progress of the vegetation fire has been stopped. Five engines, one truck, and two water tenders were at the scene. PG&E also responded due to arching power lines.

Officials say the fire started in the back of the residence in teg vegetation. It then moved to the residence and an outbuilding. Both buildings were saved.

Several other structures were threatened. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
