CAL FIRE investigating 4 small vegetation fires

CAL FIRE is investigating four small spot fires that sparked up around 6 a.m. Monday.

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - CAL FIRE is investigating four small spot fires that sparked up around 6 a.m. Monday.

The fires burned less than one acre in the four corners area near the intersection of Highway 299 and Highway 89.

Crews will remain on the scene for most of Monday afternoon to mop up and watch for hot spots.

Another fire just after 11 p.m. Sunday burned about two areas near Big Bend and Cove Roads. CAL FIRE said that the fire was caused by lightning.
