BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Saturday morning two fires were quickly contained in Butte County.
One fire was called the Mather Fire. It burned in the Robinson Hill area, but only half an acre of land was damaged by the fire.
Another fire burned two acres in the Kelly Ridge area on Bethridge Dr. near Dunstone Drive before being contained by Cal Fire crews.
Public Information Officer Rick Carhart said it is very important that residents and visitors to the county refrain from making sparks that could become wildfires.
Saturday morning Carhart seemed pleased that the two fires were contained so quickly. "One less spark" makes a huge difference, said Carhart. He clarified that the goal of Cal Fire is to put out all of the fires before they get to ten acres in size.
