BIGGS, Calif. – The Community Action Agency of Butte County, Inc. (CAA) North State Food Bank will host a free food distribution event on Friday, April 30, in Biggs.

The event will be held at the Community Hall 280 B Street, Biggs, CA. The distribution begins at 10 a.m. and ends at Noon, or until supplies run out.

The food boxes include healthy, shelf-stable and perishable food depending on seasonal availability. Boxes weighing between 12 – 17 pounds will be placed by volunteers into vehicles attending. Participants are asked to remain in their vehicles.

“We’ve organized a drive-through event using pre-boxed food to help protect those in need of food and our volunteers to the maximum extent,” Tom Dearmore, CAA Community Services Manager for the North State Food Bank said.

The CAA said the food is made possible by funding from the State and County to assist families impacted by COVID-19.

High clouds are streaming over northern California on this final day of the workweek, and light showers are trying to fall over the mountains. It is warmer today despite the clouds, and it's going to get much warmer soon.
