Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force make drug bust; seize over 15 pounds of meth

Drug agents seized 15 pounds of meth and two pounds of heroin during a bust in Oroville.

OROVILLE, Calif. - Drug agents seized 15 pounds of meth and two pounds of heroin during a bust in Oroville.

On Nov. 4, the Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force (BINTF), with the assistance of the Butte County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) and the Butte County Sheriff’s Office Detective Unit, served a search warrant in the 1200 block of Feather Avenue in Oroville.

In total, authorities said they located nearly 15 pounds of meth and over two pounds of heroin. Butte County Sheriff's officials say the drugs were valued at more than $300,000.

Investigators also found several guns, one of them was stolen.

Thai Tao was arrested on felony drug and weapons charges. Thao is currently being held at the Butte County Jail with a bail amount of $1,255,000.00, according to BCSO. Robert Long was arrested on an active felony warrant. He is currently being held at the Butte County Jail on the no bail warrant.
