CHICO, Calif. – Butte County Public Health announced it will begin to test the State’s new ‘MyTurn’ COVID-19 vaccine scheduling system.

BCPH and Enloe Medical Center said they will pilot the MyTurn system during a limited first dose community vaccination clinic for Butte County residents currently eligible for the vaccine on Friday, March 5 at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds in Chico – by appointment only.

MyTurn Pilot: First Dose Community Vaccination Clinic, Butte County residents only

Residents who are currently eligible can book a first dose vaccination appointment for Friday, March 5 through the State:

  • Online at: https://myturn.ca.gov/
  • California Department of Public Health Hotline: 1-833-422-4255
  • The system may allow out-of-county residents to schedule an appointment at this Butte County clinic, however proof of residency is required and will be checked – People who are not residents of Butte County will be turned away even if the system allowed an appointment to be scheduled.
  • Proof of employment for eligible sectors is required and may include: pay stub, ID badge, or letter on company letterhead indicating employment.

A limited number of appointments will be available for eligible residents ages 65 and older and residents working in emergency services, education & childcare, agriculture, food and healthcare workers. Proof of employment for eligible sectors is required.

The pilot is expected to help BCPH and Enloe understand how the MyTurn system works and to identify any glitches that may arise to ensure the system runs smoothly when larger community clinics are scheduled.

While Friday’s pilot clinic is to test the system, eventually the county will transition away from its current COVID vaccine scheduling, known as, Sign-up Genius, to MyTurn. During the transition, the county may continue to use both systems to some degree until more details are sorted out, according to BCPH.
