Victim in stable condition following early morning Oroville shooting

The Butte County Sheriff's Office is investigating a non-deadly shooting in Oroville Tuesday morning.

OROVILLE, Calif. - A person who was shot early Tuesday morning was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition. 

The Butte County Sheriff's Office responded to a call around 4 a.m. to investigate a shooting along Thompson Flat Cemetery Road in Oroville. 

When deputies arrived on the scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening.

Deputies said it appears that the victim was in a confrontation with the suspect and a shot was fired during the altercation.

The suspect was taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing.
