After 22 years of public service, Butte County Superior Court Judge Barbara L. Roberts is retiring.

OROVILLE, Calif. - A Judge of the Butte County Superior Court is retiring after serving the community for more than 22 years.

Superior Court Judge Barbara L. Roberts will officially retire Sunday, October 11, 2020.

Judge Roberts was in private practice for six years from late 1982 to late 1998 after receiving her Juris Doctorate from the McGeorge School of Law.

She served on the Judicial Council Civil and Small Claims Advisory Committee, and then became a Judge on January 23, 1998.

Judge Roberts served as the Presiding Judge of the Juvenile Court from 2001 to 2005 and again between 2016 and 2020.

She served as Assistant Presiding Judge of the Court in 2003 and 2006; Presiding Judge of the Court from 2004-2005; Supervising Judge of the Appellate Division in 2009; Supervising Judge of the Civil Division from 2009-2010; and Presiding Judge of the Treatment Courts from 2014-2015.
