OROVILLE, Calif. – A two-month investigation by the Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) was able to link a man to three burglaries in the Biggs and Oroville areas.

44-year-old Brian Horton, of Oroville, had physical evidence and forensic downloads of electronic devices conducted against him, according to BCSO.

Through BCSO's investigation, Horton was linked to a burglary in Biggs in November. During this burglary, BCSO said a firearm was stolen. Horton was linked to another burglary in Biggs in December, and an attempted residential burglary in Oroville, which also happened in December.

Horton has been held in custody at the Butte County Jail since his Jan. 7 arrest. On Feb. 19, Horton was booked for two more felony counts of burglary and a felony count of attempted burglary.

The Sheriff’s Office said it is conducting a follow-up related investigation.
