Deputies Still Searching for Missing Oroville Man

Butte County Sheriff's Office and the Butte County Search and Rescue are looking for an Oroville man that has been missing since Wednesday.

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Butte County Sheriff's Office and the Butte County Search and Rescue are looking for an Oroville man that has been missing since Wednesday, Oct. 10.

William Stebner, 45, of Oroville, was reported missing by his friend after they became separated while gold panning in the area of Golden Trout Crossing Campground in Clipper Mills. 

He was last seen around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. 

Anyone with information is asked to call the Butte County Sheriff's Office Dispatch at (530) 538-7322.

Stronger winds and low humidity over dry fuels will result in very high fire danger across northern California Wednesday and Thursday. We'll be very hot Wednesday, but a welcome drop in high temperatures is ahead for Thursday.
