BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Butte County Public Health Officer Andy Miller delivered a message about his resignation on Facebook.
Miller said he wants to make clear he is not leaving due to any disagreements, but rather a personal decision.
"I look forward in the future to spending less time on disaster response, which has been much of my job during the past three-and-a-half to four years, and instead moving back to clinical medicine in a hospital setting or a clinic," said Miller.
In addition to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Miller also played a critical role during the Oroville Spillway Evacuations and the Camp Fire.
Miller's last day with the department is July 10.
