CORNING, Calif.- Police in Corning made multiple arrests over a busy weekend.
Police arrested Emilio Sanchez after they say he was driving a stolen mini-van. Officers say they conducted a traffic stop after seeing the stolen vehicle. Two other adults and an infant were also in the vehicle. Police say that the owner of the stolen vehicle was a friend of Sanchez who declined to press charges. However, Sanchez was found to have a felony warrant out for his arrested and was booked into Tehama County Jail.
Officers say they arrested Michael Fowler, after a vehicle pursuit that ended when he crashed into a parked car at a home daycare. According to police, Fowler ran on foot from the scene of the crash and was located, with the assistance of CHP Air-Ops and a CHP K9 Unit, inside a travel trailer on a property belonging to someone else. Fowler was booked into Tehama County Jail for numerous charges including felony evading, resisting arrest, felony child endangerment, and hit-and-run.
Drug bust at traffic stop
Officers say they conducted a traffic stop on Vaughn Wilson who was issued a citation after driving with a suspended license. Police say inside the vehicle they found heroin and methamphetamines. Authorities say Wilson then fled the area and was eventually located at a residence occupied by Jessica Powell who was on probation. Police say a search of the residence was conducted and officers arrested Wilson for sales and transportation of methamphetamine and heroin and Powell was arrested by Tehama County Probation. Inside the residence, police say they contacted Teresa Visperas, who were arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, and Christina Girard who was arrested for outstanding warrants.
