CHICO, Calif. - Some restaurants in Chico are making adjustments to their outdoor services due to the cold and rainy weather.
"We've got a couple of heaters along the inside windows here and we've got the windscreens that are rolled down there," said Manger for Burgers and Brew, Daniel Moore.
Moore said making adjustments because of the pandemic was difficult and now as the weather turns colder, they face even more challenges.
"It's definitely frustrating, but I mean there is not a whole lot that we can do about a virus besides following the rules and there is nothing we can do about the weather, so it's just another day," said Moore.
He said now more people will want to sit inside especially when it rains.
"It's just going to be about accommodating them and trying to find a system that works," said Moore.
People in Chico shared mixed feelings about dining outdoors when it is cold or rainy outside.
"I still want to go to restaurants," said Chico resident, Gianna Rossini. "I want to support my community and help out in any way that I can. I am still not super comfortable with eating inside yet so I am still happy with eating outside."
"If it's just cold and there are fire pits and things like that possibly but, if cold and rainy then no," said Chico resident, Shannon Herold. "I don't like to be out in the cold so good chance I probably won't."
Moore said that if Butte County goes back to a more restrictive tier and they can't serve food outside due to weather conditions, they will still offer take-out services. For a list of some restaurants offering services in Butte County, click here.
