CHICO, Calif. - A bicyclist suffered fatal injuries after being hit by a car on Highway 32 at Ten Mile House Trail in Chico Friday night.
According to CHP, this all occurred on Friday, May 8 just before 10 p.m. on Highway 32 at Ten Mile House Trail in Chico.
CHP says a 65-year-old man from Chico was riding his bicycle eastbound on Highway 32 at Ten Mile House Trail at an unknown speed.
A 32-year-old man was driving a 2018 Chevrolet pickup in the eastbound lane of Highway 32 at approximately 55 mph and was just west of the bicyclist.
According to CHP as the pickup truck reached the bicyclist the front portion of the truck collided with the bicyclist. The bicyclist sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision.
CHP says the cause of the collision is still under investigation, but alcohol and drugs are not to have been a contributing factor.
