Grab your jacket this morning, but feel free to leave your umbrella at home again today. The warming trend and dry weather are going to continue across Northern California this week. There is a decent chance for fog development in some areas this morning, and that could result in lower visibility for your morning commute. Aside from the potential for morning fog, today looks very mild and comfortable. Temperatures have dipped into the 30's to mid 40's in the valley overnight, and into the 20's to 30's in most mountain areas. Winds are up to 15mph out of the Northeast this morning, and are expected to stay in a similar range through the day. Skies will be sunny for your afternoon, and high temperatures will be warmer than yesterday. Valley temperatures are projected to top out in the low to mid 60's this afternoon, and mountain areas will end up in the mid 40's to mid 50's later today.
High pressure will continue to result in dry and warmer weather across Northern California through your extended forecast. Temperatures will continue to climb through the weekend, and some areas of the valley could see a return to the low 70's by Saturday. We are expecting a subtle drop in temperatures for the start of next week, but we'll still be well above average for this time of year. Our current outlook for your extended forecast keeps Northern California dry with above average temperatures through at least the middle of next week. Long range models are hinting at a possible pattern change returning to our area next weekend.
