Boat and RV show kicks off in Anderson

Every year, the three-day event draws thousands of people from across the North State.

ANDERSON, Calif. - The Norcal Boat, Sport & Rv Show kicked off in Anderson Friday.

Every year, the three-day event draws thousands of people from all around the North State.

Hundreds of vendors and are on site representing all aspects of outdoor recreation from boating and RVs to hunting, fishing, camping and much more.

“It's representing a very wide variety and wide range of interests,” show producer Joe Pate said. “And that's why we feel we have something for everyone. We have something for kids in our BB gun range and the kids fish pond and we have something for adults. We say 5 to 95.”

In addition to the boats and RV's, the event offers tons of shows, activities and food.

There's the live grizzly bear experience and the world-champion Lumber Jill's led by “Timber Tina” Scheer.

“We affectionately refer to ourselves as ‘chicks with axes,’” Scheer said. “And we do three 30-minute shows a day highlighting the old-time skills of the lumberjacks in a modern competition but with a new twist. We've got a team of all female logging sports athletes.”

Scheer has also appeared on Survivor: Panama and Nat Geo's Ultimate Survivor Alaska.

The Norcal Boat, Sport & Rv Show is open 10AM - 7PM Saturday and 10AM - 5PM Sunday.

Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors 55 and over, $3 for children 7-15 and Children 6 and under are free with adult admission.
