OROVILLE, Calif. – Action News Now reporter Jafet Serrato is in Oroville at Highway 162 between Arbol Avenue and Oro Quincy Highway.

The area is currently closed due to a big rig that crashed into a power pole, according to the CHP.

Oroville CHP said they got a call around 8:35 a.m. Tuesday. CHP said the driver dozed off, and drifted across the eastbound lane before hitting the power pole and overturning. It knocked out power to more than 1,500 PG&E customers - power was restored around 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The truck was hauling sod. The driver of the big rig was uninjured and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

CHP said the road closure could take several hours. Action News Now will provide an update once the area reopens.
