BUTTE MEADOWS, Calif. – A nearly 400-pound bear has been making the rounds in Butte Meadows.
Mike Maloney told Action News Now that he set up a camera to help his neighbors at the Bambi Inn after a bear tore the door off a walk-in refrigerator on the back porch and had a feast.
The owners repaired it. But the bear has been returning each night since then, five nights in a row.
So far, no more damage has been reported. They tried a 'bear crow' but it didn't work.
We're told the owners are now consulting a Fish and Wildlife biologist on what to do to make him go away. Fish and Wildlife told Maloney they don't have much luck relocating bears.
But the folks at Bambi Inn are hoping to find some way to scare him off because they don't want to shoot him.
