CHICO, Calif. - Bidwell Bark's walk in the park has been canceled this year but you can still participate online!

The Chico event has attracted thousands over the past ten years and this year, to make sure everyone is safe and following the stay-at-home order, the Butte Humane Society decided to do the fundraiser online.

Still scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., participants can walk or run in their backyard, on a treadmill or in their neighborhood.

Participants will not miss out on the fun activities, either. Butte Humane Society said there will be virtual activities, like the opportunity to share your pet's best costume, and a raffle!

To register and create a team or simply make a donation, you can visit their website HERE.

Butte Human Society reminded participants that 100% of the funds raised help to provide shelter, food, medical care and more essentials for the animals.

Organizers say they are still accepting sponsors.
