Bidwell Bark filled the park

The Bidwell Park Fun Run & Festival features family fun and a great way to enjoy a beautiful day in the park with man's best friend.

CHICO, Calif. - Bidwell Park is full of dogs and their owners and families for Butte County's largest dog-friendly public event. There is also a dog-friendly 5K run that took place on Saturday at the Bidwell Bark Fun Run & Festival, which is a big annual fundraising event for the Butte Humane Society.

Disc Dogs of the Golden Gate were scheduled to perform their high-flying canine action and local dog-trainer Dina Zaphiris from Chico Dog was there with her world-renowned guest animal expert Glauco Lima.

Action News Now was out in Bidwell Park enjoying the festivities and judging some of the contests, including a dog pie-eating contest. Many representatives from our station volunteered to judge the events.

All proceeds from Bidwell Bark benefit the Butte Humane Society.
