Beckwourth Complex cleanup operations begin Monday

The Sheriff's Office said Phase 1 of the cleanup operations in the burn scar of the Beckwourth Complex will start Monday.

QUINCY, Calif. - Cleanup operations are going to being in Plumas County for areas affected by the Beckwourth Complex, according to the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office.

The California Department of Toxic Substances Control is beginning Phase 1 Household Hazardous Waster Cleanup on Monday.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking people to not interfere with crews as they assess the area. It is asking people to not move or disturb ash or debris in the burn scar.

There are health and safety hazards in the burn scar and people can enter at their own risk.
