Bear killed in accident on Hwy 70

CAL FIRE is on the scene of a collision involving a vehicle and a bear.

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. – CAL FIRE is on the scene of a collision involving a vehicle and a bear.

It happened on Highway 70 at Cherokee Road around 1 p.m. Tuesday. CAL FIRE said the bear was killed and had two cubs with her. It is unknown the status of the two cubs.

Fish and Wildlife officials have also been called to the scene.
