Clipper Mills and Brownsville, Calif. - Even though some Bear Fire evacuees were allowed home this past week, some say they are ready to go again if something happens this weekend.
Glenn Gould is one of those residents. He says he has a go bag with all of his important documents inside.
"Birth certificates, everything like that, all important medical records, if you have them. Also have pictures you don't want to lose, a fire aid kit, summer or winter clothing if it's that time of year," said Gould.
He says he knows from experience that it is a good idea to have blankets, flashlights, batteries, and spare water if you can.
"Also have cash, because if you are in an area that the power has been cut, if you can get to a store it's going to be cash only because they cannot run your cards," suggested Gould.
Gould says if law enforcement says to evacuate again, he hopes his neighbors listen.
Another woman Action News Now spoke to said she has experienced losing her home in natural disasters before. Now she is going to Merry Mountain Village to check on her family's cabin.
"We lost our house to a fire when we lived in Yuba City and we lost our house to a flood when we lived by Plumas Lake," said Gale Young.
"We bought the cabin in case we flooded again, and after the flooding there was the Oroville Dam scare so we came up here and the family came up here as a rescue place to get away from it," said Young.
Young added she and her sister in-law are headed there to grab some sentimental items.
"We have a book that everyone who comes up to the cabin has to sign and they have to write their experience at the cabin, so I am going to grab that," said Young.
