Bad Grinch, Good Grinch

Reporters from Stockton, Calif. to Pascagoula, Mississippi share their Christmas Grinch stories -- good and bad. Includes a Grinch arrest caught on camera.

UNITED STATES -  An unlikely character brightened the day for a lot of Christmas Eve shoppers in Stockton. A visit from a mysterious Grinch at the Weberstown mall ended with a viral video showing many shoppers picking up piles of cash.

It looked like it was raining,” said one local child who was shopping at themall with his family. His father, Carlos Barajas, said, “Imagine money being thrown around your areas. Everybody was going crazy picking it up.”

Barajas had been in line with with family so they could have Christmas pictures with Santa. When he caught the generous Grinch on cell phone video, he shared it. It went viral.

The man behind the Grinch mask revealed himself. Watch the video to meet the man behind the Grinch costume. He said he did it to bring smiles and to make everyone’s Christmas a little bit brighter.

He said he hopes it inspires others to give back.

The money was raised through community donations.

Now for a bad Grinch story distributed to the media by police in Pascagoula, Mississippi.

Officers said they had to arrest this mean Grinch for attempting to steal Christmas.

Police said the Grinch stole packages and tried to take items from unlocked cars. They said he was wreaking havoc in their city, so they chased him down, finally arresting him and taking him to jail for his crimes.
