BIGGS, Calif. – The Butte County Sheriff’s Office announced it made an arrest in the Biggs Unified School District burglary that occurred in September 2020.
Authorities said they worked with the Biggs Unified School District and obtained video surveillance that captured portions of the burglary.
Deputies and detectives were able to identify 31-year-old Adison Mortenson, as the individual who committed the burglary, according to the sheriff’s office.
Based on the evidence, detectives said they obtained an arrest warrant for Mortenson. Detectives determined Mortenson had an additional arrest warrant which was issued in Spokane, Washington. On Sept. 24, Mortenson was located and placed under arrest in Contra Costa County, California.
On Sept. 29, detectives said they interviewed Mortenson at the Martinez Detention Facility. With the assistance of the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office, detectives were able to obtain additional evidence related to this ongoing burglary investigation.
