BCSO arrest 7 people in connection to burglary at Chico home

The Butte County Sheriff’s Office arrested seven people related to a burglary investigation.

CHICO, Calif. – The Butte County Sheriff’s Office arrested seven people related to a burglary investigation.

Deputies said homeowners who live on Honey Run Road in Chico told deputies they caught a male suspect on surveillance video committing the burglary on Feb. 3.

Authorities said they reviewed the surveillance footage and were able to identify the suspect as William Lowrance, 41, of Magalia.

Detectives said they determined Lowrance was arrested after the burglary for unrelated charges. Lowrance admitted to the burglary during an interview with detectives.

He was then booked into the Butte County Jail.

Authorities, later on, served a search warrant at Lowrance’s home, located in the 14000 block of Wood Drive, Magalia on Feb. 18.

Several people were contacted at Lowrance’s home and detectives recovered multiple items from the home including firearms, ammunition, heroin, and drug paraphernalia.

As a result, the following people were arrested:

• William Lowrance, age 41 of Magalia was arrested for one felony count of residential burglary.
• Heather Barker, age 21 of Magalia was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Derek Boni, age 47 of Magalia was arrested for an arrest warrant.
• Michele Cummings, age 47 of Magalia was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Robert Deorle, age 31 of Magalia was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Jodi Gillis, age 46 of Magalia was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Gary Sapien Jr., age 22 of Magalia was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
