OROVILLE, Calif. - During a weekend traffic stop, the Butte County Sheriff's Office arrested two men from New York, one man from Georgia and a woman from Los Angeles after deputies say two had felony warrants and over 60-pounds of marijuana were found in the car.

Officials say on April 11, a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Oroville and found the four in the car. The deputy learned Christopher Gude of New York had a felony warrant for his arrest, out of the East Coast state, for homicide. Another man, Frank Perry of Georgia, also had a felony warrant out of Trinity County.

Meanwhile, officials say police K-9 "Chico" alerted deputies to the smell of narcotics and led them to find about 64-pounds of marijuana and about $99,000.

In addition to the arrest warrants, officials say the four were also arrested for possession of marijuana for sale and for transportation of marijuana.

Detectives and deputies interviewed all those arrested and say they learned Gude, Julian Jenkins of New York and Samantha Reyessickles of Los Angeles, all came to the North State from Los Angeles to buy marijuana.

Gude told officials he planned to resell the marijuana in the Los Angeles area.

Officials also determined Perry had traveled from Georgia to help facilitate a marijuana purchase.
