BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - The state mask mandate and California Department of Public Health face covering guidance are still in effect in Butte County, according to Butte County Public Health.

Public health said the new CDC guidelines state vaccinated people do not need to wear a mask or social distance "except where required by federal, state, local, tribal or territorial laws, rules and regulations."

The guidelines also state there are exceptions for local business and workplace guidance.

The CDPH said fully vaccinated people should continue to wear a face mask when outside of the house, when at indoor or outdoor crowded events and where the CDPH requires face coverings.

Public health said unvaccinated people must continue to wear a mask when social distancing is not possible and when directed by state guidelines.

BCPH is working to get more information about how the CDC guidelines will impact state guidance.
