The man was known as Noel Garcia, 34, of Hayward.

Sheriff's deputies say he was a documented Campo Ramos Locos gang member and was on active parole from the California Department of Correction and Rehabilitation.

Garcia was given parole based on attempted murder charges out of West Sacramento.

Deputies also say he was part of a marijuana growing operation in the Windy Point Neighborhood near Montgomery Creek.

As part of Garcia's parole conditions, he was required to notify his parole officer before leaving West Sacramento.
