OROVILLE, Calif. – The Butte County Sheriff’s Office and Oroville Police are investigating whether two early morning robberies are connected.
Around 6:09 a.m. Tuesday, Butte County deputies arrived at the 7-Eleven on 2125 Monte Vista Ave. in Oroville and contacted an employee at the store. The employee told deputies a man entered the store at 6 a.m., approached the cash register, put a ski mask on his face, and went behind the counter demanding money.
The suspect appeared to be armed with a screwdriver, BCSO said. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and left the store on foot. Authorities said he was last seen wearing dark-colored pants and a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with white lettering.
The Oroville Police Department is also investigating another robbery Tuesday morning that occurred 10 minutes after the robbery at 7-Eleven. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 538-7322.
