REDDING, Calif. - Authorities have identified a man who died after a collision on Highway 273 near Breslauer Way on Wednesday, June 17.
61-year-old Murray Ronald Roseberry, of Redding, was identified by the Shasta County Coroner's Office. The collision happened around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday. Roseberry was transferred to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance where he later died, according to deputies.
The man who officers said is responsible for the collision, Steward Helmer, of Anderson, faces felony DUI and manslaughter charges.

Investigators said it was determined that Helmer was driving an SUV while pulling a boat - which struck the man. Helmer then pulled to the side of the road to check if the man was ok and called 911, according to the police. Helmer showed clear signs of intoxication while speaking to investigators. He was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail, officers said.
