Authorities investigating house fire in Redding

Authorities are investigating a fire that completely destroyed a home in Redding on Thursday morning.

REDDING, Calif. - Authorities are investigating a fire that completely destroyed a home in Redding on Thursday morning.

The fire broke out just after 11 a.m. on Thursday on Akrich Street in Redding. 

When Cal Fire arrived on scene, the home was completely engulfed in flames and was completely destroyed by the fire. 

Cal Fire and Shasta Lake City authorities are still on the scene investigating the cause and cleaning up. They have not determined a cause yet, but say that there was power on at the home at the time. 

There was at least one person home at the time that the fire broke out and they did make it out safely.
