REDDING, Calif. - As coronavirus cases continue to grow, nursing homes are being extra careful and changing the way they operate.

Kenneth Williams and his wife owns New Vision Services. In Shasta County, they have 12 assisted living facilities and two more out in Stockton.

Williams tells Action News Now, they have no positive cases of coronavirus at any of their homes. But have implemented new protocols during the pandemic. Such as restricting visitors from coming in and out of the building.

If someone in their home does test positive, Williams says that person will be quarantined to their room and one staff member will be assigned to that individual.

“All we can really do is just isolate them in an area in their room and all the meals and activities in the room,” said Williams.

Williams says also the coronavirus pandemic interrupted many of the elderly's daily routine because many of his clients attended day programs. But those programs have since been canceled because of the pandemic.

But New Vision Services is finding other ways to keep its clients entertained. Such as playing more board games or even driving them around the city in their bus, which gives them a chance to get out of the home.
