REDDING, Calif. - The Asphalt Cowboys are bringing back events that were canceled last year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

One of those events includes the Pancake Breakfast. This year, they will be serving up those flapjacks at the Civic Auditorium.

“We were so happy to learn that we can do the breakfast and some other events,” said Dave Tappan with the Asphalt Cowboys. “We're just ecstatic.”

But even with all the changes, people like Miranda Wilson, whose father is a member of the Asphalt Cowboys, are excited. She is glad to have this event and the Redding Rodeo make their comeback this year. Wilson tells Action News Now events like this help bring the community together.

“Just seeing everybody,” said Wilson. “You see so many faces throughout the line as they come through and get the pancakes and sausage. It's just a fun time to see everybody and catch up.”

Some of the other events people can expect this year include the quick draw shootout, line dance lessons, and dance contest just to name a few.

But some events like the Redding Rodeo Parade and Chili-Cook are postponed until 2022. The Asphalt Cowboys hope to bring back all of its events next year.

The Asphalt Cowboys says it will be following COVID-19 guidelines and protocols.
