BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - A chainsaw artist is commemorating the town of Paradise with art from a log salvaged from the Camp Fire.

The Forest Foundation commissioned chainsaw artist Matt Holmes to carve a bobcat from a log salvaged from the Camp Fire.

The carving will be auctioned off at the California State Fair to raise money for the Paradise Unified School District.

Holmes created a bobcat out of the log because that animal is the mascot for Paradise High School.

Cool today with clouds clearing out. This weekend will be sunny with some record breaking heat in the North Valley. High in the mid-60s next week with high fire danger.
