OROVILLE, Calif. – An Oroville man was arrested following a residential burglary that happened in March.
In March, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) said it began investigating a residential burglary that happened in the Oroville area. While processing the residence for evidence, deputies located items they believed would contain DNA evidence.
BCSO said they used their ANDE DNA Instrument in April 2021 to process DNA located during the residential burglary investigation. Authorities said the DNA profile of 24-year-old Peter Lor, of Oroville, came back as a match to the DNA they had located on several items where the burglary occurred.
Lor was already in custody at the Butte County Jail on an unrelated case, BCSO said.
On April 13, detectives contacted Lor about the burglary investigation. Detectives also said they located additional evidence indicating he committed the residential burglary. After speaking with Lor, detectives drove to a residence on Claremont Dr. in Oroville and recovered some of the property that was stolen during the burglary.
Lor was booked into the Butte County Jail for a felony count of residential burglary. Lor is scheduled to be arraigned at the Butte County Superior Court on April 15.
