BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger made a surprise visit to firefighters battling the Camp Fire on Wednesday.

Schwarzenegger said that he was in Budapest, Hungary, when he first heard of the Camp Fire. After that, he decided to make his way to the North State and helped serve the firefighters breakfast and also provided words of encouragement.

"Our firefighters are by far the best and the bravest," he said. "They're really tough guys they deal with this terrain with the fires, the obstacles and all this stuff. They're out there 24 hours a day at times. You know, I always said I'm playing an action hero in the movies, but they're the true action heroes."

The former governor also criticized President Trump for blaming the wildfire on poor forest management.

Schwarzenegger spent about an hour at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds during the press briefing on Wednesday.

The weather over northern California has finally calmed substantially. Although it would be fantastic to have valley rain and mountain snow, we have some exceptional weather ahead for the end of October and beginning of November.
