ANDERSON, Calif. - An Arizona felon was arrested with a firearm after an officer pulled him over for speeding in a construction area Monday, according to Anderson Police Department.
Officers conducted a traffic stop when Ernesto Garcia, 32, was driving about 80 mph in a 55 mph construction zone.
Garcia was conducted by police and officers found he had no driver’s license or any other identification in possession.
Officers asked Garcia to get out of the vehicle and asked if he had any weapons on him. He said he had a firearm in his waistband.
Garcia was detained without incident.
The firearm was not registered to Garcia and had a threaded barrel and was loaded with live ammunition.
Officers searched the vehicle and found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Garica was arrested on multiple charges and booked into the Shasta County Jail.
