Annual Drop and Dash Event in Chico

The City of Chico is hosting an event near the Chico State campus to collect unwanted items.

CHICO, Calif.—The City of Chico is hosting an event near the Chico State campus to collect unwanted items.

The Annual Drop and Dash event is kicking off Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Volunteers will be happily collecting any unwanted furniture, household items, or clothing.

They will then donate the items or properly dispose of them.

During the drop off Orange Street will be closed from the south side of Second Street to the north side of Third Street.

There is another collection spot at West Sacramento and North Cedar Street.

As expected a lot more smoke has poured over the California Central Valley from the Dixie Fire, and our air quality has worsened significantly. We can expect hotter weather this weekend, and the smoke will linger, too.
