RED BLUFF, Calif. - It's that time of the year! California Highway Patrol is kicking off its annual Chips for Kids Toy Drive.
Officers are asking people to drop off new, unwrapped toys for boys and girls of all ages at their office on Main Street next to Home Depot.
The drive gives toys to youth in areas like Gerber, Manton, Rancho Tehama, Las Flores, Tehama Vina, and more.
"These are really small communities," said Troy Somavia. "So that's what we do at the highway patrol. We target those specific areas and those are the areas that we focus on."
There are more than 20 drop-off locations throughout Red Bluff. CHP offices all over the North State are collecting toys for kids, including the CHP offices in Oroville and Chico.
