Anderson police searching for armed robbery suspect

The Anderson Police Department is actively searching for a suspect they said robbed a gas station attendant at knifepoint on Saturday.

ANDERSON, Calif.  -The Anderson Police Department is actively searching for a suspect they said robbed a gas station attendant at knifepoint on Saturday.

Authorities received reports of the robbery on March 30 at the Safeway gas station located at 2520 Balls Ferry Road, Anderson. 

The investigation revealed that the suspect entered the store around 5:17 a.m. and brandished a knife at the employee, demanding money. 

The employee gave the suspect cash and he exited the store and fled around 5:18 a.m. 

Surveillance video was released of the incident. Authorities were able to determine that the suspect is a male adult with dark hair wearing a baseball cap backward. He did not have a shirt on and was wearing khaki pants, possibly with brown-colored boots. 

The suspect also wore a bandana around his face and had a knife sheath in his right, rear pocket. 

After receiving the cash, the suspect fled the store and ran behind the business, possibly getting into a mid-sized pickup truck.
