Anderson police conduct monthly neighborhood enforcement operation

The Anderson Police Department said they will be following up on neighborhood complaints on a monthly basis, thanks to their "Problem-Oriented Policing Unit."

The Anderson Police Department said they will be following up on neighborhood complaints on a monthly basis, thanks to their "Problem-Oriented Policing Unit." 

Anderson police said they began the enforcement on Friday night to deal with complaints from residents living in Anderson such as:

- Illegal campers
- Code enforcement issues
- Narcotics activity complaints

According to APD, often times the "POP" unit has a set of assigned targets geared to those nuisance complaints and so far the operation has made six arrests from about 20 contacts such as:

- Pedestrian checks
- Traffic stops
- Probation and parole searches
